Directed by Somitharan in his debut, the film is inspired by real memories from the Sri Lankan conflict. Speaking at the trailer launch, the director said that the movie is based on life experience and presents life during the war, but not the war itself. The trailer clearly presents this with a vivid picture of how everything tries to bring hope despite the situation. It shows culture and life as they are, thus adding credibility to the depiction.
