Martin Scorsese is ready to take the front seat for his next project. Working alongside his daughter, Francesca Scorsese, who took on the director’s hat for her latest project, Scorsese appeared in a five-episode mini-series for a coffee brand. The series blends their love for coffee and films, along with the father-daughter duo’s relationship as they explore some of New York’s most beloved landmarks together.

Specially shot for a popular coffee brand to capture ‘the magic of coffee’, Francesca Scorsese directed five episodes of a mini-series that captured the Scorsese family banter, along with their creative visions coming into one. The miniseries, titled ‘Family Blend’, premiered online on July 22. Furthermore, it was shot in multiple locations important to the famed filmmaker’s life, including the Little Italy neighbourhood in New York, as well as his Brooklyn production centre.The father and daughter duo co-starred in the series, with brief appearances by names like Jason Biggs and Adrien Brody, bonding over their connection and their shared love for coffee.The official description for the mini-series reads, “Directed by Francesca Scorsese, starring the legendary Martin Scorsese alongside Francesca, Family Blend is a five-episode miniseries that pays tribute to our roots, our creativity, and the small daily rituals that keep us connected. Set against the vibrant streets of New York City, we get a glimpse into the intimate world of a father and daughter through shared laughter, unearthed memories, and creative reflections, where time seems to stand still with a good cup of coffee in hand. Blending the authenticity of documentary with the spark of cinematic comedy, Family Blend is an ode to coffee as that invisible bridge weaving generations together, embracing experiences, and igniting the spark of art.”
When and where to watch ‘Family Blend’
Fans will be able to watch the miniseries on YouTube, with new episodes rolling out once a month on the brand’s official social media account. The first episode, ‘But first… Coffee’, was released online on July 22. The next episode, titled ‘Elizabeth Street’, which will be shared online in August, takes a trip down memory lane as the duo heads down to the streets in New York where Martin Scorsese grew up. The September episode, ‘Back to Tisch’, shows the two returning to their alma mater, New York University. In October’s release, ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’, Scorsese’s daughter takes her father to Little Italy, while the last episode, slated for November release, shows Martin Scorsese challenging his black coffee routine by trying out new types and blends.
