The Staff Selection Commission has reopened the application window for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2026 after receiving multiple requests from candidates who were unable to complete their registrations within the original deadline.The SSC had released the notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 on May 21, 2026, and kept the online application process open until June 22, 2026. According to the Commission, more than 28 lakh candidates successfully submitted their applications during this period, highlighting the immense popularity of one of India’s largest recruitment examinations.Despite the high number of registrations, the Commission said it received several representations from candidates citing various difficulties that prevented them from completing their applications before the deadline. Taking these concerns into account, SSC has decided to provide an additional opportunity to eligible candidates.
Application window open till June 25
As per the latest announcement, the online application portal has been reopened for two days. Candidates can now submit their applications from June 23, 2026, 11:00 PM, until June 25, 2026, 11:00 PM.The Commission has also revised related timelines linked to the examination process. Since the application deadline has been extended, the new closing date of June 25, 2026, will now be considered the crucial date for determining eligibility criteria wherever applicable in the examination notice.
Fee payment deadline extended
Candidates who submit their applications during the extended period will be able to make the online fee payment until June 26, 2026, at 11:00 PM.The SSC has advised applicants to complete both the registration and fee payment processes well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or heavy traffic on the portal.
Correction window dates revised
The extension has also resulted in changes to the application correction schedule. The ‘Window for Application Form Correction’ will now remain open from July 1 to July 3, 2026, until 11:00 PM.This facility will allow candidates to review and rectify permissible details in their submitted application forms before the examination process moves to the next stage.
No other changes in examination notice
Apart from the revised application-related dates, the Commission has clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the original Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 notification issued on May 21 will remain unchanged.The SSC CGL examination is one of the country’s most sought-after recruitment tests, attracting lakhs of graduates every year for vacancies across various departments and ministries of the Central Government.
